This coming Saturday, August 23, we'll be running our Summit Open Comp Series with a GUARANTEED PURSE!  The gate will open at 3:00 with time trials starting at 4:00 PM.  Qualifying for Open Comp will be at 5:00 and 6:00 PM.  Eliminations are scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM.  Details about Open Comp can be found on the "News" page.  This will also be a great time to tune and test.

How about a final round with .002 and .008 reaction times!  Chris Johnson made it interesting for Casey, but broke out by .011.  Casey had a .005 package.  The other winners are pictured on the "Winners" page.

We had a chance to watch some incredible racing Saturday night in the twelfth race of the Jerry Barker Chevrolet ET Racing Series with the final win going to Casey Prince of Griffin, as he pushed Chris Johnson of Vienna to a breakout in the Thaxton Trucking Company Super Pro final.  The DeFoor Drywall Pro ET win went to Blake Carnell of Bonaire when he caused Matthew Castleberry of Shiloh to run too fast in the final round.  The DeFoor Sportsman final was decided by a red light as Ken Huckaby left too soon while running Patrick Ard.  Both drivers live in Meansville, Georgia.

Parker Suggs of Warner Robins, Georgia, prevailed in the 13-17 Junior Dragster final winning over Brittany Harper of Meansville.  The 8-12 win went to Brittney Hellemn of Buford over Kasey Kirksey of Butler, and Taylor Ramsey of Commerce took the Junior Consolation win when Schafer Suggs of Warner Robins left too soon.

Mark Fowler started the evening off today with a win in the Dial-in-for-Dollars contest running a perfect 6.19 seconds to clean out the $352.10 pot.

Details of the final rounds and more pictures are posted on the "Winners" page and points are updated.

August 9 "Quarter-mile Saturday" results include a win by Ed Swearingen in the CSR/Fort Wayne Super Street Series and a runner-up finish for Rusty Gibbs.  The Super Pro win went to Dennis Deal over Charlie McCulloch and Lowell Martindill took the Pro ET win over C.J. Johnson.

Points are updated and details of the finals on the "Winners" page.  See "Notes from Ed" for more about Quarter-mile Saturdays.

Our Jerry Barker Chevrolet ET Racing Series event of August 2 was concluded when a thunder storm came during the second round of Sportsman competition.  In accordance with our rule, the purse will be split among the winners of round two of Super Pro, Pro ET and Junior Dragster competition, and round one of Sportsman competition.  Buybacks will be refunded to Sportsman competitors since round two was not completed and round one winners will receive their portion of the winners' purse.  Checks for all eliminators have been mailed.

Points have been awarded for all of you who braved the weather to be with us and this race has been counted as complete.  The good news is that the electronic equipment was unplugged in time and not damaged by the severe lightning.

Notes from the Tower

I would like to inform the Jr. Dragster drivers of a great opportunity that has come about.  I have been trying to find someone to sponsor our series for the young drivers and I finally found one.  Kroger grocery stores have stepped up as a major sponsor for our series.  We will now have a points fund for our young competitors.  The way this will work is that at the end of the year the winner of the points will receive a US Savings Bond of $800 and the runner up will receive $400.  Third place through tenth will each receive $100 in a savings bond. This is great news to share with our Jr. Drivers since we do have some of the best drivers around.

We're located directly across from RAY'S PAINT & BODY SHOP on Georgia Hwy. 96, less than a mile west of Reynolds.  Directions on Map Quest and others are incorrect as E-911 is being implemented and GA 96 has changed routing directly through Reynolds.  Our new address will be 42 Raceway Drive, but that address is not yet recognized by Map Quest.  It can be used as a shipping address.  MapQuest and other suppliers of such information are grossly wrong in giving directions to our facility. Simplified directions can be found on our "Directions" page.
