See our "News" page for increased purse information for our "Firecracker Weekend" two-day race on July 4-5! We have decided to stick with the earlier gate opening as listed on the flier and start time trials at 2:00 PM since the forecast is for slightly cooler weather. **************************** The roster has been turned in to the NHRA for the Eastern Conference Finals in Bristol, and the fist team includes: Pope Sellers, Reba Sellers, Brittany Harper, Nick Crane, Parker Suggs, Hannah Crane, Chase Prince, Dillan Kyle, Katie Touchton and Allison Townsend. The second team is Schafer Suggs, Austin Windham, Noah Johnson, Travis Maine and Joseph Long. **************************** June 27, 2009
Leland Poppell outlasted Ben Chancellor Saturday for the CSR S/ST win by breaking out the least in the final round. Roger and Don Popham were keeping it all in the family as they met in the final round of the JJ Spec 15-second race with Roger breaking out by the least amount to take the win. The JJ Spec King of the Single Cams Challenge win went to Greg Carter, driving a '88 Civic over Jimmy Jones, also driving a Civic. Details of the final rounds are posted on the "Winners" page and points are updated. ****************************
"Hillbilly" won the J. Barker Chevrolet ET Series race one year ago, too, on June 21, 2008. The ninth race of the Jerry Barker Chevrolet ET Series is in the record book. James Cuddington ran for the "Dial-In-for-Dollars" and ran a few thousandths too fast, so the pot rolls over. It should be nearly $600 in two weeks for our next bracket racing event on July 4. Saturday's first winner was Katie Touchton, who won the Junior Dragster race for age 8-12, when Dillan Kyle committed a foul start. Parker Suggs lost to Chase Prince in the age 13-17 final for Juniors. The Junior Consolation race has come down to Allison McKneely and Will Castleberry with Will taking the win. Kathy Sellers won the Sportsman Eliminator by forcing Sam Adams to break out in the final round. Andy Castleberry lost a close race to Jamie Hairrington in the Pro ET final. The Super Pro final was won by Donnie Attaway when Keith Comer fouled in the final round. Final round details are on the "Winners" page and new points are posted on the "Points" page. Complete points will be posted in the souvenir building. *************************** View Photos taken on the Track. The NHRA Junior Drag Racing League Finals will be conducted in Northwest Tennessee on September 5. Changes were made to the Division 2 Summit ET Finals and the Pro ET class will be allowed to utilize a trans brake for the coming season. An outline of the changes are posted on the "Allowable Devices" page. **************************** Order pictures of YOUR car online. Click on "Photos" above.
